Prof. Dr. Sandro Serpa is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of the Azores, Portugal. He is also an integrated researcher at the Interdisciplinary Centre of Social Sciences of the Azores Centre (CICS.NOVA.UAçores). Dr. Serpa has held various academic positions, including the Head of the Department of Sociology and Program Director for the Bachelor of Social Work. He actively contributes to scholarly communication and has published more than 400 research works in Brazil, Canada, China, the United Arab Emirates, Germany, India, Kazakhstan, the Netherlands, Pakistan, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America. He emphasizes the importance of integrating academic knowledge with service to the university and the broader society.
