Dr. Carmine Massarelli, an Environmental Technologist at the National Research Council (CNR), is an expert in designing complex monitoring programs for water and soil aimed at accurately assessing environmental status through advanced modeling. Specializing in data analysis via Machine Learning, he performs high-level technical and professional tasks within the field of Smart Technologies applied to the environment. To this end, he exclusively utilizes Open Source software for Geographic Information Systems (GIS), geo-database administration, and specialized programming. Currently, he serves as the scientific lead and coordinator for several research projects focusing on pesticide monitoring and microplastic pollution, with strategic applications for the green and blue economy as well as the safeguarding of biodiversity.
