Open Access Funding

Publication fees are commonly paid by authors' funding institutions and help sustain the open access publishing model. Budgets to cover OA fees can often be designated directly in the grants or in specific budgets allocated for that purpose by the institutions. We strive to maintain strong relationships with funders and ensure compliance with mandates. IntechOpen is a member of OASPA and all OA books published are indexed in the Directory of Open Access Books (DOAB). IntechOpen is an active participant in the OA Switchboard books pilot initiative.

Please be aware that you must be a member or grantee of the institutions/funders listed below to apply for their open access publication funds.

Ongoing Institutional Agreements

CSIC-affiliated authors can benefit from a special joint agreement between IntechOpen and CSIC, which offers heavily discounted publication fees. The Agreement includes chapter processing charges, monograph and compact OA fees.

IntechOpen has signed an Institutional Agreement with Iowa State University, enabling authors affiliated with ISU to receive a discount on open access publishing fees for book chapters, journal articles, and short-form monographs.

IntechOpen has established valuable cooperation with the University of Alcalá Library, offering UAH authors discounted publication fees for book chapters, long-form monographs and compacts.

IntechOpen offers discounts on its fees for publishing books or book chapters in open access based on an Agreement through the CRUE-CSIC alliance to members of the University of Barcelona.
